This website provides you with a basket of tools. The word kete encapsulates the idea of a knowledge basket.
The kete is designed to help anyone who is involved in planning or managing natural areas for tourism. The tourism focus might range from planning for a new product such as a track or trail, to a major new development like a resort, to more general planning at a destination level.
The kete is organised around an integrated framework shown by inter-connected hexagons. You can see the hexagon diagram on the HOME page.
In each outer hexagon on the home page there is a set of tools. Start by clicking on the hexagon that interests you. Look at the tool overview, or click on a particular tool to locate text that describes the tool and how and where it can be used. Note the text has direct links to other tools.
Get more information about a set of tools by clicking on RESOURCES in the side bar. Here you can access live web Links, a Bibliography, a Photo Gallery and case studies where particular tools have been used
You can also go directly to the RESOURCES by clicking on the centre hexagon in the HOME page - “Capacity Building”. You can then click on any of the outer hexagons for the RESOURES or go to “General Resources” in the centre.
Under HOW TO USE THIS TOOLKIT there are three scenarios on the side bar. You may be facing issues that are similar to one or more of these scenarios – they are based on some common situations. Each scenario has links to particular tools.
At any time click on HOME to get back to the home page.
